YAAW Letters to board of supervisors

October 25, 2013

This week at YAAW it came to our attention that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors cleared the way for the Sheriff and the Department of Public Works to request $80 million in state funding to be put toward the construction of a modernized jail.

We are so appalled at this decision that we decided to spend our Thursday evening writing letters to our district supervisors. Our letters let them know we are outraged that this proposal is being considered. This is just the first of many actions we will take to try to stop the building of the new jail. Stay tuned for more!
