Laurel Butler

Picture
Laurel Butler is a multidisciplinary performance artist, educator, organizer, and the Project Advisor for all performance-based YAAW projects. If she’s not at YBCA spazzing out with the YAAWs, Laurel is probably teaching for the University of San Francisco Performing Arts and Social Justice Department, rocking out as the lead singer of Lady Stardust (San Francisco's all-female David Bowie cover band), performing with The Royal Frog Ballet, or facilitating theater and dance workshops at San Francisco Jail #5. Laurel holds an MA in Theater Education and Community Outreach from the University of New Mexico, and served as the Youth Arts Manager and Education/Engagement Specialist at YBCA from 2011 to 2014.
